Deportivo La Coruña's nightmare season continues, and they have now gone seven games without a win after they were held to a 1-1 draw in the Riazor stadium by bottom club Numancia. Irureta's side got off to a good start, Munitis, Diego Tristán and Luque shooting just wide and Tristán hitting the outside of the bar within the first half hour. But Molina had to save from a dangerous Tevenet free kick, and Juanlu also shot just wide of the target before the break.

The Galicians were left with ten men midway through the second half though when César was shown a second yellow card, and Tevenet struck a post with the resulting free kick. But substitute Pandiani headed the locals into the lead after Víctor headed on Valerón's pass, and it appeared they were on track for a much needed victory. However only four minutes later Carlos Merino crashed a long shot back into the net after Molina had failed to clear a free kick to level the scores. Depor threw everything forward after that, but Pineda headed a last minute effort from Pandiani off the line to give his side their first point away from home all season.
