Getafe got on the goal trail in the season's highest scoring weekend, beating Zaragoza 3-0 to move to within two points of their opponents in the table. Once again Craioveanu was the architect of the victory, all three goals coming from his corners in the first half of the match. Yordi got the first with a first time shot after the defence failed to clear, Nano headed a second after Belenguer crossed the ball back in, and Mario Cotelo drove in the third after Luis García tried to punch another corner kick clear.

Quique Flores had lined up with a five man defence for the first time in the league, with Raúl Albiol, now recovered from his horrendous car crash at the start of the season, playing as a third centre back. The move appeared to work as a Zaragoza attack sadly missing the injured Savio were unable to make any breakthrough. The only danger came from central defender Milito, who sent a header over the bar from a cross by García Granero's cross, and then saw another free kick tipped over by Sánchez Broto. Yordi could have increased the lead later on, but by then the locals had already done enough.
