Racing Santander climbed out of the relegation spots to the detriment of Albacete after drawing 2-2 with Levante on Sunday evening. Javi Guerrero gave the Cantabrians the lead on the stroke of half time after Morán's effort was deflected into his path by a defender. But the visitors turned the scoreline around early in the second half with a strike from Nacho after Congo's cross was only partly cleared, and then with a free kick from Juanma which took a deflection off the defensive wall.

The visitors were left with ten men though when Pinillos picked up a second yellow card, and a couple of minutes later referee Iturralde González further upset coach Bernd Schuster when he ruled that a foul by Juanma on substitute Jonathan was inside the area, when it appeared to be just outside. Aganzo converted the kick, the first goal he has scored since the last time the two sides met, but the Cantabrians were unable to build on the one man advantage as their Juanma got himself sent off almost immediately after bringing down Congo as he advanced on goal. Honours were shared, but the result was better for the away side than for the hosts.
