Sevilla put their midweek cup defeat behind them and moved back up into the Champions' League spots after a comfortable 0-3 win over Levante. Caparrós was missing the injured Sergio Ramos and Aitor Ocio and rested Baptista, but their replacements were up to the task, controlling the game right from the start. Antoñito shot wide and Makukula also failed to find the target before Adriano found Antoñito for him to control the ball and beat Mora.

The locals came out with a bit more fight after the break, Ettien bringing a good save out of Esteban. But soon afterwards the Andalusians went further ahead, Makukula holding off his marker to fire in a shot which took a deflection off Culebras to wrong foot the keeper.

Bernd Schuster brought on two new forwards, and Reggi could have done better when free in front of goal. But his side were left with ten men when Celestini had to go off with an injury with all substitutions made, and Baptista came on to finish things off with a spectacular free kick near the end.

The local fans booed off their players at the end, the four points picked up from their last two games already forgotten. Schuster was philosophical in the end, but he needs to get a couple of good results in the bag fairly quickly or his may be the next head to roll.
