Levante and Zaragoza drew 0-0 on Sunday evening, a result which probably keeps local manager Bernd Schuster in a job despite having only won once in the last fourteen matches. Despite the result the game got off to a lively start, Mora saving from Villa and Luis García doing likewise from Jofre in the opening minutes. Tito could have given the home side the lead when his free kick bounced on to the post, but Mora had to save again from Villa and Galletti before the break.

The hosts had the better of the second half, Luis García keeping out efforts from Sergio García, Jofre and Tito, and Sergio García could have won it for them when he broke through on the right of the area and fired a dipping shot which crashed down off the crossbar. In the final minutes though the visitors went close twice, on both occasions Galletti failing to find the target with only the keeper to beat. In the end probably a fair result, although it would have been nice to see a goal or two.
