Osasuna are rapidly dropping down the table after eleven matches without a win, and a heavy 4-0 defeat at the hands of Levante means they are now just one place above the relegation zone. Inspired by Rivera, Bernd Schuster's team gave them the run-around, taking the lead in only the seventh minute when Juanma collected a long pass from the ex Real Madrid midfielder to lob Elía. And a few minutes later Juanma got his second of the night when he connected with Jofre's cross to fire a shot into the far top corner of the net.

Jofre could have made it three soon afterwards had he found the target, but ten minutes before the break Manchev did hit the back of the net after Elía could only push out a shot from Sergio García, the first goal the Bulgarian striker has scored since October. Aguirre made two changes at half time to try and stem the tide, but another pinpoint pass from Rivera found Sergio García for him to run on and force the ball past the keeper twenty minutes in to the second half. It was all over, and Levante move three points ahead of their rivals and ten above the drop zone, fairly close to safety and a second season in the top flight.
