A strange game at Zaragoza, where Valencia came back from two goals down to share the points in a 2-2 draw. The visitors totally dominated a rainy first half despite putting out a depleted side but they couldn't find the back of the net, Di Vaio in particular wasting three or four chances and Fabio Aurelio and Mista also going close. But with the first half coming to an end Generelo unleashed a long shot which took a slight deflection off a defender to bounce past Cañizares and put the home side in front.

Four minutes in to the second half the locals went two up when Albelda headed Savio's cross back over the head of his own keeper. After that the roles changed, and Víctor Muñoz's side could have increased their lead with Ayala cutting out Galletti (who had replaced the injured Villa) and Alvaro heading against the bar.

Antonio López played his last card, bringing on Corradi for the last ten minutes, and within a minute he had pulled one back after Milito slipped whilst trying to clear a cross. And four minutes later Caneira levelled the scores after picking up Fiore's cross from the right. Before the game ended Caneira was sent off for a second bookable offence, but his side had saved a point to keep them in fifth position pending Sunday's games.
