Málaga and Getafe drew 1-1 on Sunday evening, a result which takes both a little closer to salvation. Although there was not a lot of action the game did boast the two best goals of the weekend (according to one TV station at least), Baiano starting things off with just under a quarter of an hour gone when he picked up a short pass from Juanito on the left wing and cut in past a defender before curling a shot in off the post.

Duda felt himself unlucky not to have a penalty when tripped in the area a few minutes later, but soon afterwards the visitors were level after Romero could only head Pernía's free kick as far as Nano, who hooked a spectacular shot over his own shoulder and in to the top corner of the net.

Málaga could have gone back in the lead after the restart when Miguel Angel struck a fantastic volley from 30 yards out after the defence cleared a corner, but the ball crashed off the crossbar. And visiting keeper Sánchez Broto, returning after injury, did well to push another effort round the post after Juan Rodríguez touched on Duda's free kick.

Referee Iturralde González got in to the act near the end when he at first signalled a penalty after Yordi blocked another Duda free kick, but changed his mind after his linesman pointed out that the striker's bloody nose was clear evidence that the ball had hit him in the face and not on the arm. However he still booked the player for standing too close to the ball, and sent him off a few minutes later after showing him another yellow card for a foul on an opponent. By then though the game was virtually over, and both sides had long settled for a point.
