Deportivo kept alive their hopes of playing in Europe next season after beating Levante 0-1. The pre-match build up was more about who had the more outlandish haircut, Sergio García or Molina, who was returning to Depor's squad this week, but that was soon forgotten as the game got underway. Diego Tristán came close to catching out Mora with a clever back-heel early on, and Sergio García tested Munúa at the other end of the park a few minutes later. But six minutes before the break the visitors got what was to be the only goal of the game, víctor heading back a long cross from Munitis for Tristán to score from what clearly looked to be an offside position.

Valerón could have increased the lead a few minutes in to the second half had Mora not got a hand to his header, but half time substitute Manchev headed wide as the locals came forward. After that it was end to end stuff, Tristán bringing a good save out of Mora again, and Manchev being frustrated twice by Munúa. But the three points were on their way to La Coruña, and Depor stay a point behind Atlético and just four off the UEFA spots. Who said they were finished?
