Sevilla's goal drought continues, and once again they were unable to score as they were held 0-0 draw by local rivals Cádiz. Juande Ramos's side had only scored twice in four games this season, and with Saviola and Kanouté unavailable the manager gave the front two spots to Luis Fabiano and to Kepa, who had a one match ban cancelled earlier in the week.

The early danger though came from Jesús Navas, the winger testing Armando in the twentieth minute and then putting in a dangerous cross which Kepa just failed to get on the end of. With ex Sevilla coach Víctor Espárrago holding the reins though the visitors were solid at the back, and they should have taken the lead on the stroke of half time when Abraham Paz blasted a penalty over the bar after David had fouled Enrique.

The locals kept up their attack in the second half, Kepa going close with a spectacular scissor kick and Luis Fabiano hitting the post. But Cádiz held on for a valuable point, which keeps them safely in mid-table. They have never won in twelve meetings with their rivals in the first division, but this was as good as a victory.
