Getafe's moment of glory at the top of the first division was short lived, although their 1-1 draw with Mallorca still leaves them in second place. The Madrid based side went ahead in the seventh minute after Güiza picked up a pass from Paunovic and fired in a shot which Moyà could only push in to his own net. And they could have increased the lead when Matellán went close following a corner, and then when Gavilán fired a couple of shots wide later on.

Mallorca's only threat came from midfield, where Borja and Doni both tried their luck, and Cúper decided to change his front men early in the second half. But even so they could make no headway, and the home side should have gone further ahead had Moyà not saved well from Craioveanu and Riki, and Pernía and Craioveanu not fired efforts over the bar. However with ten minutes to go a spectacular shot from over 30 yards out by Fernando Navarro dipped over the head of Luis García to save a point for the visitors.
