Real Sociedad continue to claw their way back up the table, and the San Sebastian based side are up to seventh spot after a 2-0 win over Deportivo. Real were still smarting from their cup defeat midweek, and they took some time to get going in the first half. The only danger came from an early effort by Mikel Alonso which Molina kept out, and a shot by Kovacevic which the striker fired over the top.

There was even less action at the other end though, the visitors looking uncomfortable in their red shirts which their hosts had lent them after referee Medina Cantalejo refused to let them wear their blue second strip. The closest they came to scoring was when the home defence got themselves in a mix up, although Munitis had a penalty claim waved away by Medina on the half hour mark.

Three minutes in to the second half the locals finally got the goal they were looking for when Kovacevic headed Uranga's cross past Molina, the striker dedicating the goal to his mother who passed away only a couple of days before. Depor didn't react, and Jauregi headed a second from Nihat's corner a few minutes later. Juanma did hit the post near the end, but it was too little too late.
