Two of the newly promoted sides Alavés and Cádiz cancelled each other out in a 0-0 draw, a result which left the home side without a win at their Mendizorroza stadium all season. Local keeper Costanzo had to be at his best as the visitors dominated the first half, in particular keeping out a header from Enrique. Chuchi Cos's side didn't have an effort at goal until just before the break, when Aloisi headed a long cross over the bar. The Australian striker was active after the restart though as the locals took control, and only a couple of first class saves by Armando kept him for winning it for the locals. However it was not to be, and the Vitoria based side stay in the bottom three for a few days longer at least.
