Osasuna are sure of a third week in a row at the top of the table for the first time in their history after beating neighbours Real Sociedad 1-2. The locals had not lost in their Anoeta stadium all season, but they were under pressure right from the opening minutes when Webó twice broke free in front of goal but was unable to beat Riesgo. And they fell behind when Raúl García headed a cross from Corrales past the young keeper on the half hour mark.

Xabi Prieto equalised from the penalty spot on the stroke of half time after the ball hit Valdo on the arm as he jumped for a challenge, but Riesgo had to be at his best to keep out a double effort from Milosevic early in the second half. And soon afterwards Cuéllar headed what was to be the winner from Puñal's free kick.

Kovacevic brought a good save out of Ricardo and substitute De Paula shot just wide as the home side tried to fight back, but Puñal almost increased the lead with a shot which Riesgo just got a hand to. In the end though a first win for Osasuna in San Sebastian for 13 years, and Javier Aguirre's side move a heady five points clear pending Sunday's games.
