Deportivo moved up to seventh position in the table after a 1-1 draw at Málaga. The home side got off to a good start, with Molina having to save at point blank range from Salva and César Navas heading against the post. Arnau was in action close to half time though, having problems keeping out a free kick from Munitis but reacting quickly to block Diego Tristán on the rebound.

Tristán almost put the visitors ahead just a couple of minutes in to the second half when his connected with a cross from the right only to see his shot bounce off both posts. Three minutes later though the Gailicians were behind, Nacho heading up a long ball into the area and spinning round to fire an acrobatic shot past Molina.

Salva could have wrapped things up soon afterwards when he got on the end of Edgar's cross only to head wide, but Tristán brought a good save out of Arnau at the other end before Valerón connected with a cross by substitute Iván Carril to level the scores. A fair result in the end, leaving Málaga where they were at the start of the match in thirteenth place.
