Osasuna kept up the pace with leaders Barcelona after beating Málaga 1-2 on Sunday evening evening. The South coast side had been a bit of a "bête noir" for the visitors, the 10 previous meetings in the Rosaleda stadium ending with seven home wins and three draws, but the visitors were on full song and the hosts had to put out a depleted side, with forwards Salva, Couñago and Morales all injured.

Javier Aguirre's side got off to a good start, and Webó took advantage of some slack defending to run on to a long pass and open the scoring midway through the first half. The Camerooni striker came close to scoring a second soon afterwards, but Nacho got on the end of Paco Esteban's cross to equalise a few minutes later.

The Pamplona based team were back in front before the break though, Valdo losing his marker to steer a header past Arnau from Milosevic's cross. Málaga could have equalised again had referee Esquinas Torres not turned down a possible penalty by Miguel Flaño on Esteban after the restart, but Milosevic should have wrapped things up when he missed the target with the goal at his mercy later on.
