Villarreal stay in fourth spot after coming from behind to beat Getafe 2-1, a flattering result as the visitors played some good football. Pellegrini's side have been struggling to find their form at home of late, and they were pinned back early on, Gavilán in particular trying his luck a couple of times. And with twenty minutes on the clock the young winger found Riki for him to open the scoring with a spectacular overhead kick.

Riquelme put Calatayud to the test a couple of times as the locals fought back, and the keeper did well to close down José Marí when free in front of goal. But he could do nothing on the stroke of half time when Riquelme bent in a free kick which bounced down off the crossbar just over the line.

Calatayud was in action again early in the first half to block an effort from José Marí, but a few minutes later the forward chested back a long ball from the wing into the path of Forlán, who unleashed an acrobatic volley into the far corner of the net. It was the reigning Pichichi's first goal in six league games, and came as a welcome relief to the fans. Guayre could have added another when he just failed to get on the end of Forlán's cross, but the visitors didn't give up and there were a few more scares before the referee blew the final whistle.
