Betis stay in the bottom three despite earning a point in a 1-1 draw at Mallorca. The early chances fell to the locals, and Jonas Gutiérrez gave them the lead on the half hour mark after intercepting a wild clearance from Rivas and shooting low past Doblas from outside of the area. Just a few minutes later though the Andalusians equalised after Iuliano failed to control a long punt out of defence by Juanito, Robert picking up the rebound and lobbing the ball high over the head of the advancing Prats. Curiously it was the first goals that either had scored for their clubs, Robert in particular making his league debut after signing for the club in the winter.

Prats was in action before the half time whistle, tipping a dangerous shot from Joaquín over the bar, but after the restart the visitors hardly troubled the keeper. Cúper was still going for a win though, and his attacking substitutions almost paid off when first Campano had a shot blocked by Melli and then Okubo tried to squeeze a shot under the keeper. Doblas and his defence held fast though for the draw which keeps them just a point behind their opponents.
