Cádiz's chances of survival took another blow when they were held to a last minute draw by neighbours Betis. Víctor Espárrago's side had taken the lead with a hotly disputed Lobos penalty midway through the second half after Melli pushed Jonathan Sesma in the area, but with a minute to go Joaquín deflected a long free kick from Marcos Assunçao down past Limia to save a point for his side.

The locals had had the better of the first half, with Sesma putting an effort just over the top early on and Enrique firing another shot over the crossbar. Juanito headed a corner just wide though, and Robert could have scored with a diving header which just cleared the bar close to half time.

The visitors could well have taken all three points right at the end though when Limia produced a first class save from Xisco in injury time, but it was not much consolation for the locals. They ended the day four points from safety, and with a difficult run in to the end of the season the players themselves accept it would need a miracle for them to stay up. Betis though are close to safety after a run of six games without defeat.
