Mallorca and Alavés both came in to this game needing a win to take them away from the relegation zone, but in the end they cancelled each other out in a scoreless draw which didn't help either side. Dmitri Piterman said that a point would be a good result, but the visitors came closer to scoring in the first half, in particular when Aloisi ran on to Nené's pass but couldn't beat Prats. The keeper also did well to stop another effort from Bodipo, and the hosts' only reply in the first half was when Pisculichi broke through but couldn't finish.

Tuni shot wide early in the second half as Manzano urged his players forward, but Pereyra headed Basinas's corner on to the top of the bar and substitute Okubo got on the end of a long cross but could only fire a shot straight at the keeper. The last chances of the game fell to the visitors though, but Elton headed wide and Mena was slow to shoot after making himself space, and was closed down.
