Sevilla stay top of the table after beating Real Sociedad 1-3 on Sunday evening, their tenth win in a row in all competitions. Juande Ramos's side took the lead with just over a quarter of an hour gone when Renato nipped in to score after the defence failed to clear Martí's corner, and although Kocavevic could have equalised had Javi Navarro not closed him down at the last minute, local keeper Riesgo had to make two or three first class saves before the break.

Only a long shot from Mikel Alonso had created any work for Riesgo's opposite number Palop, and Kanouté could have extended the lead before he took advantage of a passive defence to head Adriano's pass over the top of the local keeper with a quarter of an hour to go. Dragutinovic wrapped things up with a long shot in the dying minutes which ballooned up off Labaka's foot, and substitute Díaz de Cerio got a late consolation after Xabi Prieto headed on a long cross before the final whistle.
