Espanyol and Osasuna both qualified for the league stage of the UEFA cup on Thursday night, but they put in a disappointing performance in a 0-0 draw at the Montjuic stadium. Neither keeper was particularly troubled, the best chances being a Pandiani header just wide and a shot from Izquierdo which Kameni collected comfortably before the interval. Luis García curled a free kick over the bar after the restart, and Webó shot just wide at the other end when free in front of goal. Valverde eventually turned to Tamudo, but even he could not change things, heading wide from a late corner, and there were whistles once again from the local fans at the end of the game.
