Deportivo came within a minute of making it in to the top four, but they had to settle for a 1-1 draw against Betis in the last match of the weekend. The Andalusians had the better of the first half, with Edu going close and Xisco and Sobis both hitting the woodwork in one attack. But it was the visitors who took the lead just three minutes in to the second half when a shot from almost 40 metres out by Arizmendi curled away from Doblas.

Rivera hit the post again a few minutes later, Dudu Aouate reacting quickly to smother his subsequent shot. But it seemed as if the Galicians were going to come away with the three points until Lopo handled the ball in the area in injury time, and substitute Robert converted the kick. Prior to that Felipe and Sobis had both been sent off by referee Daudén Ibáñez for second bookable offences. An eventful match, in which points, honours and disgraces were shared by both sides.
