Sevilla moved back up to second in the table after coming from a goal down to beat Celta 1-2 in the Balaidos stadium. The early chances fell to the Andalusians, Jesús Navas and Kepa both trying their luck, but in the seventh minute Nené squeezed a shot past Palop to open the scoring for the Galicians. And Nené and Canobbio both went close as the home side looked to build on their lead.

Poulsen equalised though with a shot from outside of the area on the half hour mark after Tamas could only partly clear another cross from Navas, his first goal in a Sevilla shirt. And Kepa should have put his side in front soon afterwards, firing a shot against the bar with only the keeper to beat.

Iriney tested Palop soon after the restart, but a few minutes later Adriano put the visitors ahead when he sneaked in to dispossess Antonio Nuñez and beat Pinto. Later in the second half Antonio Puerta had a penalty appeal turned down by referee Alvarez Izquierdo, but with three minutes to go he did award one at the other end after Jesús Perera was fouled by Javi Navarro. However Palop stood his ground to block Baiano's soft shot, and Contreras somehow failed to find the target as the ball rolled out to him in front of goal.
