The battle between the two newly promoted sides Recreativo and Gimnàstic ended in a 2-1 victory for the Andalusians after Mario got the winner in injury time. Ismael gave the visitors the lead in the sixth minute, turning the ball wide of Laquait after Beto could only head back a cross. But Javi Guerrero levelled the scores before the break, deflecting the ball into the far corner of the net with his heel after good work down the right wing by Cazorla.

Recre came close to scoring after the restart, Rosu shooting just wide and Uche having an effort cleared off the line by Ruz, referee Rodríguez Santiago correctly waving away claims for hand ball. Nàstic had Llera sent off for a second bookable offence with ten minutes to go, but they appeared to have held on until Mario headed Viqueira's corner down into the ground, and followed up quicker than anyone to drive the ball in to the roof of the net.
