Real Sociedad stay at the bottom of the pack after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Espanyol. Visiting coach Ernesto Valverde was under pressure to get a result, and his side could have taken the lead when Tamudo shot wide early on. But on the half hour mark Díaz de Cerio opened the scoring for the Basque side after Uranga headed on a free kick.

Ten minutes in to the second half though, Luis García picked up a return pass from De la Peña to make it all square. Jarque was lucky to be let off after the ball hit his hand in the area, and Kameni did well to keep out Díaz de Cerio soon afterwards. But Espanyol could have won it when Tamudo had an effort deflected by the defence, and then Luis García saw another shot saved by Bravo.

A sixth draw in a row though for the Catalans, which takes some pressure off their coach but leaves his predecessor Miguel Angel Lotina, now in charge at the Anoeta, with more headaches.
