Deportivo stay just two points below the UEFA cup spots after drawing 0-0 at Gimnastic Tarragona. The Catalans have yet to win at home since being promoted, and once again they were unable to find the target against a secure Dudu Aouate. Arizmendi celebrated his first ever call up for Spain by bring a good save out of local keeper Rubén Pérez early on, but otherwise most of the play was at the other end, Mingo heading over and Ruz almost catching out Aouate with a cross which dipped in under the bar.

The Israeli keeper made an important save from Portillo's header just three minutes after the restart, and then from Pinilla soon afterwards. Rubén beat away a header from Arizmendi at the other end, but Mingo just failed to find the net in the dying minutes, and Portillo kicked at air when presented with another chance. The draw at least saved the head of local coach Luis césar after his side had lost their lost three league games and been knocked out of the cup midweek by second division Valladolid.
