1-1. 94. Pandiani. Drove shot past Contreras after Luis García cross not cleared.

A last minute goal from Pandiani saved a point for Espanyol in a 1-1 draw at Betis, taking their unbeaten run to eight games (including seven draws). The Andalusians had the better of the first half, Kameni saving well from a Robert header, and the Brazilian forward gave his side the lead from the penalty spot after Kameni brought him down.

But Valverde's side came back after the restart, a De la Peña free kick and an Edu Costa header following a corner bringing good saves out of Contreras. Luis García and Tamudo also went close, but in the end it was up to Pandiani to come to the rescue once again, the super-sub driving a shot past Contreras in the fifth minute of injury time after the Arzu failed to clear Luis García's cross. The result leaves the locals just a point above the drop zone.
