Gimnàstic's Luis César was the second managerial casualty this weekend, following in the footsteps of Sarriugarte and getting fired shortly after his side lost 2-3 to Mallorca. Campano gave the Catalans the lead five minutes before the interval, turning in a low cross from Gil to score against his old side, and Portillo could have added a second had Prats not been on his toes.

Up to that point the visitors had had the better chances, Diego Tristán, Víctor and Jonás Gutiérrez all failing to find the target. But ten minutes in to the second half Jankovic beat Rubén Pérez with a long shot, and Víctor added a second just a few minutes later. Nàstic brought on new signing Rubén Castro, and he levelled the scores again after getting on the end of Campano's free kick. But Arango, who had been left on the bench by coach Gregorio Manzano, came on to win it for the visitors with a late free kic,k sending his opponents to the bottom of the table.
