The relegation struggle between Gimnàstic and Betis ended in a 0-1 victory for the Andalusians. Both sides had chances in the first half, with Marcos Assunçao causing some problems for Rubén Pérez from free kicks and Portillo testing Contreras more than once.

Matellán thought he had scored soon after the restart when his effort came back off the bar and bounced down, but referee Ayza Gámez waved away claims that it had crossed the line. And a few minutes later Betis went ahead from the penalty spot after substitute Dani was brought down by Ruz and Llrea, Marcos Assunçao converting the kick.

Campano could have equalised if he had found the target late on, but it was not to be, and Nàstic end the year in bottom spot. The result was not enough to save Irureta though, the visiting coach agreeing terms to leave the club after the match ended. Luis Fernández will be his replacement.
