A goal-less draw between Celta and Real Sociedad, a result which left the home side down in twelfth place and the visitors five points away from safety in the drop zone. The Galicians had not won at home for over two months, but they were unlucky not come away with the three points in the end. Although the first chance fell to the visitors when Pinto did well to keep out an Elustondo header, Baiano missed an easy opportunity and then saw Bravo tip another effort on to the crossbar.

A few minutes after the break, referee Rodríguez Santiago turned down an appeal for a penalty after the ball struck López Rekarte on the arm, and Bravo turned another wide shot from Baiano against the post. Xabi Prieto could have scored for Real, but with the game coming to an end, Bravo produced another top class save, and the referee waved away further appeals for a penalty after Juanito handled in the area. In the end a seventh draw in a row for the Galicians, and another valuable point for the Basque side in their struggle to avoid the drop.
