Osasuna are the side most on form in recent weeks, and they made it a record seven wins in a row in all competitions after beating Levante 2-1. Only six weeks ago coach Cuco Ziganda was close to being fired, whereas his opposite number López Caro was in favour after a good start to the season. However the visitors had not won since then, and although Ettien and Riga went close in the first half, they were up against when Robert was sent off for a second bookable offence just ten minutes after the restart.

It was a killer blow, and from Puñal's resulting free kick Cruchaga got ahead of Molina to head the ball into the net. A few minutes later Soldado picked up a return pass from Milosevic to make it two, and it was all over. Nino got one back with a shot which ballooned up off Josetxo over Ricardo late on, but it was not enough to prevent them from sliding to within a place of the relegation zone. López Caro has one foot out of the door, although the latest news was that club president Pedro Villaroel may leave instead.
