Levante beat Racing Santander 2-0 on Sunday evening, a first win in eight games for the Valencia based side. Local coach López Caro was under pressure to get a result against the side he abandoned soon after joining at the start of the season, but his team could have gone behind when Zigic headed a good chance wide and then Molina saved well from Colsa.

Visiting keeper Toño was only put to work once by a long shot from Nino, but after the restart the home side took the lead when Camacho ran on to a cross from Coutois to shoot low into the far corner. And a quarter of an hour later Kapo wrapped things up following a short free kick, his long shot bending away from Toño and finding the far side of the net. Rubén and Colsa both went close at the other end later on, but Levante held on for three valuable points which keeps them out of the drop zone.
