Bottom club Gimnàstic are deeper in trouble after losing 1-3 to Getafe, their sixth home defeat of the season. The visitors themselves had gone seven games without a win, but Vivar Dorado headed them in to the lead from Cotelo's free kick and Güiza got a second after controlling Manu's cross and beating Bizzarri with a shot on the turn shortly before the break.

Paco Flores brought on Portillo early in the second half, and the ex Real Madrid striker tested Pato Abbondanzieri with a header before Llera turned in Campano's cross to give the home fans hope. Pato did well to keep out a Campano free kick soon afterwards, but Casquero ran on to Güiza's pass on a rapid breakaway to wrap things a quarter of an hour from the end.
