Getafe moved up to seventh, level with sixth placed Zaragoza on points, after a 2-0 win over Osasuna. The two sides will be meeting in the cup midweek, but Getafe got the first blow in with two goals from Güiza in the first half, both on rapid breakaways. The striker is now Getafe's all time highest scorer in the first division, moving ahead of Pernía who held the record up to now.

Earlier on David López had put Abbondanzieri to the test with a well struck free kick, but the visitors didn't get near his goal again until well in to the second half, when Milosevic put a good chance wide. Soon afterwards though Josetxo picked up two bookings in quick succession, the fifth Osasuna player to be sent off in the last two matches. Albin came on and went close to increasing the lead in the dying minutes, but the three points were already in the bag.
