Celta drop deeper into trouble after they could only draw 1-1 with bottom club Gimnastic, and they are now just outside the relegation spots, level on points with Athletic Bilbao and Levante. The Galicians had the better chances in the first half, with Canobbio and Baiano failing to find the target and Bizzarri saving at point blank range from Oubiña. But César Navas could have given the visitors the lead when he headed just over the top early on.

Just four minutes after the restart Oubiña headed the home side in front from a Gustavo López centre, but Portillo headed the equaliser from Pinilla's cross later in the second half. And Bizzari made another important save from Baiano towards the end to ensure a point for his side. Fernando Vázquez's team have now gone ten games without a win, and the manager's job is hanging by a thread.
