Recreativo are back up to seventh after beating Villarreal 2-1 in a match which the two goalkeepers would probably want to forget. The first goal for example came from a dreadful mistake by Viera, Juanma's speculative long ball into the area bouncing over his head and in to the net.

Earlier on Sinama-Pongolle had fired a shot wide of goal when free in front of the keeper, but otherwise there were few chances in the rest of the first half. However Marcelino brought on Uche at the break, and the new man sent away his strike partner for him to squeeze a shot under Viera just a minute after the restart.

Cazorla came close to making it three against his old club when he shot just over, but soon afterwards López Vallejo came out of his area to try and cut out a long cross, and Tomasson blocked his clearance and rolled the ball in to the net after finding it at his feet.

There was only time though for referee González Vázquez to send Arruabarrena off the visiting bench for insulting one of his officials, and the game ended. Recre move four points clear of their opponents, and the cry is back on for Riquelme to return to the fold.
