Barcelona stay in top spot despite being held to a 0-0 draw by Osasuna, only the second time they have failed to score in the league this season. Frank Rijkaard was missing the injured Ronaldinho, and with Gudjohnsen dropping out at the last minute due to a virus infection, Ezquerro got a rare start on the left of attack. The early chances fell to the locals, with Valdés beating away a header from Puñal and David López missing his kick. But Giuly felt himself unlucky not to put his side in front when he ran through to beat Ricardo, only to see the strike ruled out for the positional offside of two colleagues.

Efforts from Saviola and Milosevic didn't really trouble either keeper before the break, and Saviola shot wide across goal soon after the restart. Soldado probably should have had a penalty when tripped by Puyol, and a Corrales free kick was headed back over the bar by a Barcelona defender.

The visitors had the better of the last quarter of an hour or so, Saviola firing an acrobatic shot over the top and Ricardo spilling a long shot from Xavi. The keeper saved well from Ezquerro a few minutes later, and Xavi put another effort wide of goal near the end. Rijkaard eventually gave Eto'o a run out, but only for the last five minutes to loosen up after his long lay off through injury, and he hardly had a touch. But with Sevilla only drawing and Real Madrid losing, a point was enough to keep them ahead of their rivals.
