Espanyol are now ninth in the table after a 3-1 win over Mallorca. Moisés Hurtado had headed over the bar before Luis García put the Catalans ahead with a well struck free kick on the half hour mark. But Jankovic equalised before half time, turning the ball past Kameni after a good run down the left wing by Jonas Gutiérrez.

Maxi López just failed to head a long cross on target just minutes after the restart, and Corominas fired a shot wide of the post a few minutes later. But with ten minutes to go Luis García got on the end of Riera's chipped cross to poke a shot past Prats, and with the game already in injury time Edu Costa latched on to a poor clearance to wrap things up.

The Brazilian midfielder (who had been whistled at by the crowd in recent games) created some surprise by his forearm gestures on scoring the goal, although he assured the press that he was just showing off tattoos of his parents. Whatever the case though his side had another three points, and Mallorca are back once again in the fight to avoid relegation.
