Athletic Bilbao drop further down into the relegation zone after losing 0-3 to local rivals Osasuna. Spectators rallied to the club's appeal for support, and the ground was packed to bursting. But once again their side were disappointing, Soldado having a goal disallowed for a borderline offside before the young striker won a penalty after falling under a challenge from Amorebieta, Muñoz converting the kick.

Athletic had a chance to level the scores when Ricardo tipped a header from Javi Martínez over the bar before the break, but just two minutes after the restart David López picked up a poor headed clearance by Amorebieta to run on and drive a shot low past Aranzubia.

Ricardo pushed another Javi Martínez header against the bar soon afterwards, but with twenty minutes to go Izquierdo got a third goal for the visitors, dribbling past a couple of defenders and rounding the keeper before firing in a shot which a defender could only run in to the net.

It was all over, and many fans had left the ground before Aduríz was sent off for a second bookable offence in the last minute. Osasuna had their biggest win ever in the San Mamés stadium, but after they too had been slipping down the table, the three points were more important than that.
