Sixth placed Atlético Madrid missed out on an opportunity to close up on the top spots after they could only draw 1-1 with Mallorca. Fernando Torres put them ahead on the quarter hour mark after Jurado set him up, but after that they were unable to find the route to goal.

Galletti shot wide either side of half time, but Pereyra went close at the other end, and seven minutes in to the second half Arango levelled the scores after getting ahead of Perea to collect a cross from Víctor and beat Leo Franco.

Maxi López poked a shot wide and Agüero just failed to get his head to a Torres cross, but the game ended soon afterwards. Atlético end the weekend six points away from the Champions League spots, and their frustrations became apparent when Luccin was shown a red card for insulting the referee at the end of the game.
