Recreativo drop to eighth in the table after they were held to a 1-1 draw at bottom club Gimnàstic. Sinama-Pongolle gave the Andalusians an early lead after combining with Uche to clip the ball past Bizzarri. But Portillo, who had already fired a shot against the outside of the post, drilled home the equaliser soon afterwards following a short free kick. And the ex Real Madrid striker came close to putting his side ahead when he headed just wide later in the first half.

The Catalans were left with ten men when Campano was sent off rather harshly by referee Pino Zamorano for a tackle on Uche shortly before the interval. But they held their own after the restart, Rubén Castro and Chabaud both testing López Vallejo. Sinama-Pongolle and Uche tried their luck at the other end, but in the end a draw was probably a fair result under the circumstances.
