Levante and Betis drew 1-1 in the City of Valencia stadium on Sunday evening, a scoreline which did neither much good in their fight to avoid the drop zone. Kapo almost put the locals ahead with less than a minute on the clock after Doblas slipped, and the keeper had to turn another effort from Salva for a corner later in the first half. Seconds later the locals were ahead, Salva heading on the dead ball kick for Descarga to deflect the ball into the net.

Luis Fernández made two attacking changes at the break, Xisco and Caffa coming on for Ilic and Juande, Robert and Xisco both wasted good chances, and Robert brought a couple of good saves out of Molina. But with ten minutes to go the keeper could only push out a long shot from Caffa, and Robert drove the ball back into the empty net. Doblas had to keep out a deflected shot from Salva in the final minutes, but in the end both sides had to settle for a point.
