Goals:
1-0. 58. Iago. Curled free kick over defensive wall into near top corner of net.

A spectacular free kick from Iago against bottom club Gimnàstic gave Deportivo a 1-0 victory, taking them safely up to mid-table. It was not a convincing win though, and after an early effort from Cristian, the visitors could have gone ahead through Marco and then Generelo.

Caparrós made a couple of changes early in the second half, and one of the substitutes Iago got what was to prove the only goal of the game soon after coming on.

Nàstic came close to equalising though when Portillo drove a first time volley against the bar near the end, and the Depor fans called for the final whistle after De Guzman was sent off for a second bookable offence in the final minutes. .
