Recreativo consolidated eighth spot after holding Osasuna to a 1-1 draw on Sunday evening. The Pamplona based side made five changes after their UEFA cup victory midweek, and they almost got caught out when Sinama-Pongolle and Barber both went close early on. Romeo brought a couple of good saves out of López Vallejo at the other end, and the striker was unlucky to have a goal ruled out for a borderline offside shortly before the break.

Seven minutes in to the second half Sinama-Pongolle gave the visitors the lead when he ran on to Juanma's through ball to beat Ricardo. However Cruchaga headed home David López's free kick just three minutes later to equalise. Recre pushed hard for the winner after that, Ricardo saving from Sinama-Pongolle, Cazorla having a penalty appeal turned down and Uche shooting wide. But Osasuna held on for another point which keeps them clear of the danger zone for the time being.
