Bottom club Gimnàstic took a step closer to the second division though after losing 1-0 at Mallorca, and they are now six points away from safety. The Balearic Islanders had won their last five home games, and Víctor put an effort wide early on. Ex Mallorca midfielder Campano almost put the visitors ahead when he failed to find the target after Gil set him up, but a couple of minutes later Víctor opened the scoring after Arango flicked on a long pass from Jonás.

Fernando Navarro had a penalty claim turned down soon afterwards, and Héctor and Jankovic both went close. But in the final minutes of the first half Nàstic took over control, and Gregorio Manzano's side were thankful for the half time whistle. They were able to close things up after the restart though, and neither side created many chances until late on, when a long cross from Marco swung towards the goal, forcing Moyà to turn it over the bar.
