Levante moved away from the relegation spots after beating Gimnàstic 2-0, and they ended the weekend three points clear of eighteenth placed Celta. The Valencia based side had not won in ten games, but they took the lead midway through the first half when César Navas headed Riga's free kick into his own net. And Riga got the second himself a few minutes later after an effort from Salva was blocked, referee Velasco Carballo turning down appeals that the forward was in an offside position and also that he had controlled the ball with his hand in the build up.

Nàstic's first effort at goal didn't come until close to half time when Portillo shot wide, and Levante continued to dominate after the break. The only real chance though came when Kapo shot just wide of the post, and the visitors could have got one back when Rubén Castro missed a sitter late on. It was not to be though, and with a nine point gap now between them and safety, the Catalans are now staring relegation in the face.
