Six goals at Montjuic in the highest scoring weekend of the season, where Getafe took advantage of Espanyol's UEFA Cup final hangover to beat them 1-5. Coro actually put the Catalans ahead in the fourth minute with a shot which Pato Abbandonzieri couldn't hold on to, but Casquero equalised just a couple of minutes later after Güiza turned Nacho's long ball into his path. Espanyol could have gone ahead again when Tamudo hit the post and then put another effort wide, but it was the visitors who scored next, Manu del Moral picking up a pass from Cotelo and squeezing a shot inside Kameni's near post.
That opened up the floodgates, and Pulido made it three when he headed Contra's cross past the keeper early in the second half. Güiza added a fourth after a run from the halfway line on a rapid breakaway, and Manu rounded things off with a "Peter Crouch" like scissors kick twenty minutes from the end. The win takes Bernd Schuster's side up to within two points of the UEFA cup spots, although that doesn't interest them that much as they are already ensured a place in the competition thanks to their presence in the Spanish cup final.
