Real Sociedad came in to their game at Osasuna on a roll, and with their hosts already safe there was talk of their Basque neighbours giving them a helping hand. In the end though there was nothing of the sort, the locals running out 2-0 winners to leave Lotina's side once again staring relegation in the face.

Real started well, Ricardo having to save from Kovacevic and Estrada heading a corner wide of the mark. But midway through the first half Valdo put a good chance over the top, and a couple of minutes later he crossed in for David López to head the home side into the lead.

Savio put a free kick wide at the other end, but soon afterwards Osasuna went two up when Nekounam got ahead of the flailing Bravo to head David López's corner down into the net. And although Xabi Prieto had a shot deflected for a corner before half time, the visitors could not break down a well ordered defence.

Lotina brought on all his fire power after the restart, but Savio fired another free kick wide and Kovacevic had a header blocked by a defender. And Raúl García hit the bar at the other end on a quick counter-attack, and Nekounam, Valdo and Webó all wasted chances as the visitors resigned themselves to their fate. They are now four points off safety, and it looks like their recovery has come too late.
