Levante are virtually sure of another season in the first division after a 2-3 victory over Racing Santander.Ettien put Abel Resino's side ahead early on, hooking the ball back past Calatayud after Courtois and Salva combined to set him up. Rubén headed wide at the other end a few minutes later, and with just over half an hour gone Zigic got above the defence to head Cristian Alvarez's corner down past Cavallero.

Only six minutes later though Levante were back in to the lead, Riga getting ahead of Oriol to lift the ball over the advancing keeper after Salva had headed on a long Cavallero clearance. Zigic could have levelled the scores again if he had not headed wide shortly before the break, but Calatayud had to save from Salva and Alvarez after the restart, and Riga got his second of the night on another quick breakaway later in the second half.

Racing didn't give up, Felipe Melo heading one back for the Cantabrians and Alvarez crashing a last minute free kick against the bar. But their run without a win had extended to six games, and any chance they had of playing in Europe next season has now disappeared.
